Whether it is on a letterhead, pamphlet or a business card, a logo is the first thing that catches the eye. Creating the best custom logo design would be the right thing to do since it would reflect a business’ identity, look, and service. Here are some dos and don’ts for custom logo designs.
A custom design must be describable, memorable, attractive and unique. It should also be scalable meaning, it can be reduced or enlarged to any size because they will be appearing in almost anything related to a business, from a business card to a billboard.
It should be perfect in any color scheme which means a logo should be effective in black and white or in color. Ensure that it fits the business and the purpose of the business. Something with an envelope would certainly go with a mailing company. Make sure that the message will stand out and would be conveyed properly.
Always ask others to give feedback on the custom design. Their opinions matter. Ensure that some research is done related to the field. This will give a good idea as to what works and what does not. The colors used when designing the emblem should compliment each other instead of clash against each other. The size, color, shape and design of the symbol must remain the same at all times. Lastly, the design should be very creative and it should grab attention.
Never copy someone else’ style. Remember that a logo design is the business’ identity. Avoid choosing fonts that are too fancy. They should be readable no matter what size a logo is. Never use all caps and don’t split up important parts of your design. The logo, images and slogan must be unified.
Don’t place the logo on a pattern, image or textured background. It should always be on a solid color or white background. The color of a custom design should always remain consistent. Never change the design of your emblem on a regular basis. Keep your design consistent and constantly the same.
Containing the logo in a box is not advisable. Don’t use different font designs in your logo and also don’t use shadows and stretching effects on your logos, because they won’t look nice when resized. Stay away from fonts that are hard to read and see. Don’t use colors that clash and never use a photograph as an emblem. Avoid dull, boring designs but don’t make the design too complicated either.
Keep these in mind because they are very helpful when deciding on a custom logo for your company.
Hiring a company that specializes in business logo design is not that easy but you can find one as long as you are patient and smart enough. In fact, there are many companies out there offering custom logo design services. You just have to ask for their samples and compare each company’s products before deciding which one to go with.
