Curl Tail
Will my pugs tail double curl?
Hi, I have just got a new pug puppy last week and when i got him his tail was just curled up his back but now the tip is starting to curl right back round to the base of his tail but the curl is quite loose. Will it curl up into a proper double curl or will it just stay lie this? He is 12 weeks on Wednesday and my first pug s I was a little unsure!
It all depends on genetics, really. At only 12 weeks I can tell you with certainty that his tail curl is not fully developed yet and will continue to get tighter until maturity.
My rescue girl came to me with a TERRIBLE curl (didn’t even loop once fully) when she was 9 weeks old and now at 6 months she’s developed a beautiful double curl.
Only time will tell…but even if it doesn’t turn into a double it’s okay…but it WILL get tighter as he gets older.
