What’s the best way to install a rattle into softbait ( worms, tubes, craws ) ?

I’ve been thinking of buying some glass worm rattles to bury inside of my softbaits. Do I just slit a small hole with a razorknife and insert, or does anyone have the proper technique they use to do this so it won’t affect the presentation of the bait?
What’s the best part of the worm to place the rattle?

Hollow baits such as tubes are going to be your best option for adding round plastic rattles. If you’re referring to those smaller cylindrical rattles, they’re usually pointed on the end so you can just stick them in the body, no blade needed. Those are usually more expensive, though, as the ones that I’ve seen are glass and brass. Get some fishing glue, it can only help. Remember that a lot of the time your soft plastics don’t need rattles. I wouldn’t try to add one to a 4″ finesse worm if you know what I mean.
