Case Bag
Selecting a laptop case is never easy – should you choose a hard or soft shell case? One with a strap or handles? One which has a binder or without a binder? There are plenty of options to select from, but if you want a versatile, durable and stylish laptop bag, it is important to think outside the box (or bag).
When selecting a laptop case, begin by making sure you know your exact requirement. Will you be using it to travel? Then it needs to be sturdy and durable. For college? It might need extra space to hold notes and books. To house your home laptop? It can be a basic version or sleeve.
In this instance, size does matter as your laptop case should be large enough to hold your computer. Find a case that is at least as big as your laptop, slight bigger if you want to add books and notes as well.
Next, check to see the compartment is holds. A good laptop case will have several compartments, each with a zip to protect the contents within. You may need to have space for CD’s, disks, adaptors, a mouse, and other items like:
• Cell phones
• Office supplies
• Electronic accessories like cords and plugs
• Chargers
• Wallet
• Memory stick
• iPod
How do you envision carrying your laptop? As a backpack? Slung over your shoulder? By sturdy handles? Some laptop cases come with a strap/handles combination allowing for greater carrying versatility.
It is also important to select a laptop that is lightweight, waterproof and in material which is easy to maintain. Make sure the stitching at the seams is good and there is enough padding to protect the contents within. Check to see the zippers and buckles function well and secure the flaps and closures in place. And if it’s washable then so much the better – empty its contents and clean it regularly to get rid of any dirt or grime that in turn can collect on you laptop and accessories.
Outside pockets will provide you easy access to your wallet, snacks, keys, and cell phone.
And finally, style is important, so make a selection based on how your laptop bag looks and the colors its sports.
A good laptop should provide you with many years of service, no matter the conditions you put it through – plane bins, train floors and cramped office cubicles. A stylish and versatile case will ensure your expensive items within stay safe and secure, allowing you to focus more on working with them, rather than worrying for them.
