dodge ram 1996 2500 gasser?

I had leaking Tranny lines where the brass connection, snap in type right before the radiator so i took it in and they used a pecial tool to remove the fittings. They said that theses fitting on dodge trucks are prone to leek. They cut the rubber hoses where the brass fittings connected them to the SS lines and slipped the rubber lines over the SS lines and held together with hose clamps. I have now been told that the rubber hoses will slip off and fail leaking all the fluid. I have not had a problem yet, about 1 year but i am afaid they may slip off if fluid gets between the hoses and SS lines. any takes on this..

Also. do you think that using fully senthtic tranny fluid will help the tranny run cooler?

yes they will pop off without warning. you either need to replace the lines and fix it right, or you can use a flaring tool to make a barb on the end of the line to stop it from popping off. using synthetic fluid will not help it run cooler. synthetic fluid can stand more heat, but it does not change the temperature. if you want it to run cooler you can add another cooler, or install a deeper pan. it may be a bad idea to put synthetic fluid in that being 13 years old unless you have had it rebuilt recently.
