BASS FISHING HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
What bait should i use in the morning for bass if im going to fish in a shallow pond off the shore?
And same with a lake?
What what bout mid day?
And the evening and at night?
Do senkos work? What bout grub and what color should i get?
And what bout a jitter bug and does black work for night?
What lures should i get for mornig did day evening and night
The time of day isn’t the only factor you need to consider. You also have to consider the time of year, prey, water temperature, and weather to name a few.
I like topwater lures in the morning and evening, they may not be the most productive all the time, but it’s a rush when a big largemouth explodes out of the water to slam a jitterbug or torpedo.
For mid-day, crankbaits, swimbaits, and spinnerbaits work well. Try to match the size of the prey for most occassions, but if they aren’t biting aggresively go smaller. Most of the time, matching the conditions with the lure is a good idea, on an overcast day or in murky water use dark, natural colors, and on clear, sunny days or clear water use bright shiny lures.
These are general rules and sometimes you will get great results by ignoring them or doing the exact opposite.
Plastic baits and spinnerbaits seem to work anytime, if you have a color the fish want, for most people, I personally can’t catch anything with spinnerbaits. I even used the same lure that a fishing buddy had just caught four fish on, and didn’t get a hit. I handed it back to him and he caught two more fish in about five minutes. So, I guess having confidence in a lure is important too.
Oh, yeah, the black jitterbug is great at night, especially if the moon is full. I think its noise and silhouette against a wll lit night sky trigger bass like crazy.
Grubs are really useful, follow the suggestions for plastics. Carry as many different colors and sizes as you can get.
I have no experience with senkos, but they should work.
