Which way to turn on a fly ball directly over head?

No. The ball has a certain curve depending on whether the batter is righty or lefty.
For a right handed batter are you supposed to turn left or right?

(I think you are supposed to turn opposite the batter, but…)

Fly balls that curve generally curve toward the lines (balls going to right field curve toward the right corner and balls going to left field curve toward the left corner). So if you’re in left field I’d turn over my right shoulder (easier to adjust toward the line if necessary) and if you’re in right field I’d turn over my left shoulder. But really, it’s not a big deal. Balls are almost never DIRECTLY over your head….because your head is small compared to the size of the outfield. Turn towards the ball and don’t worry about it. Remember, your first step is always back.
