baitcast reels what r they and r they easy to use?

hi im considering buying a baitcast b.c ive been watching fishing shows. are they easy to use? im used to Spinning Reels and with baitcasts ca u put sinkers and floats on like other stuff and how do u use them. are they better then spinning reels ext. and if i have a buzz bait do u just use that nothing esle on it. thanks

you can’t really compare spinning reels and bitcasters because they are completely different. Unfortunately baitcasters are difficult to use at first because of the way the spool is positioned. when you cast a baitcaster the spool actually spins unlike a spinning reel. this makes for longer casts but if you don’t stop the spool once your lure hits the water you will get a huge backlash because the spool will keep spinning but the line stops going out.

(this is a larger than average backlash but it happens)

baitcasters are better for heavier techniques and bigger fish. Techniques such as spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, swimbaits, and texas rigging are best for baitcasters while lighter applications like finnesse worming, dropshoting and using light lures is best for spinning. Baitcasters can be a pain in the @ss but they are worth it once you master them.
