What exactly is a canoe cart, and how will it help you on your next fishing trip? This is what will get your canoe from your car to the lake or river you will be fishing at. This is particularly useful if you are planning to fish by yourself, and therefore won’t be able to carry the canoe, or simply have an aching back and want to save yourself the exertion.

Believe it or not, finding the best canoe cart is actually something of a challenge, because there are so many on the market today. However, this can mean major savings for you, when you know what to look for, because more competition drives the price down.

Some of the more prominent carts I’d recommend you start out with are L.L. Bean, Prime Ask, Washburn, etc. there are others, but these are the ones that have stood the test of time, and therefore you can be sure you are getting High Quality when you confine your purchasing to these.

However, I wouldn’t recommend you buy them at your local fishing store, for the simple reason that you can have much more money by buying used. If you are interested in a canoe cart, check your local classifieds for any of these available, and also the internet. Chances are you will find somebody desperate to get rid of theirs for a fraction of the retail price, even though it’s still in Tip Top shape.

What can you expect to pay for a quality canoe cart? It will obviously vary from manufacture to manufacture, but an estimate would be between eighty and one hundred fifty dollars.

There really isn’t much of a science to buying a canoe cart-just check your classifieds, be sure you go and check it out before you actually pay to be sure it’s in top condition, and find the right canoe cart for you.
